Leadership Conference
September 11th - 13th

Chandler Collier
April 26-28 Lincoln County FFA attended the 90th FFA Georgia state convention. There Chandler Collier competed in the Agriculture Mechanics Repair and Maintenance Proficiency where he received 1st place in state and will be competing for Nationals in late October. 

Along side him was Luke Ward who received his state degree award, Brandon Shirley and Tyler Williamson.

James Messerly placed 3rd in Welding; Kimberly Justice placed 2nd in Masonry; Metz LeRoy placed 1st in Carpentry and Jed Smith placed 3rd in Plumbing.  

The Welding Fabrication team of TJ Paradise, Matthew Fernandes, Tyler Williamson and Colton Wheatley also placed 3rd (not pictured).

FCCLA Heads to the Fall Rally in Perry, GA
Several members participated in the Georgia National Fair competitions. Lincoln County High School’s knowledge bowl team were in the top 16 and advanced from the first round of competition. The chapter’s fair booth won 4th place. Members also created a brochure as a class project and Jenny Begg’s brochure was submitted and won 4th place. Alexis McCall competed in the chili cook off with her recipe of chili mac and cheese and won 2nd place. Samantha Corey won 4th place in the peanut recipe competition with a dark chocolate peanut blueberry energy bar. Lincoln County High School FCCLA thanks the community and school system for their continued support.

FCCLA attends Fall Leadership Conference
Youth from the Lincoln County High School chapter of Family, Career and Community
Leaders of America (FCCLA) recently participated in a leadership conference held October 17-18, 2017 at the FFA-FCCLA Center in Covington, Georgia.  Along with other advisers and members from across the state, Lincoln County High School FCCLA chapter adviser, Beth Pilkington accompanied 6 members to the meeting.  Those six members were Alexis McCall, Matt Penrow, Dylan Courtright, Beatrice Jackson, Makayla Bell, and Rebecca Kneece.  Matt Penrow received his Statesman award for scoring 85% or higher on an FCCLA and Georgia FCCLA Knowledge test.  He will now be eligible to take the distinguished Statesman Test at the State Leadership Conference in March.

Isabelle Linkous placed 10th in the Nation at the SkillsUSA Nationals in Kentucky - she received a Mike Rowe Scholarship and had the chance to meet him.
Each year, the mikeroweWORKS Foundation contributes funds to help deserving SkillsUSA state champions compete at SkillsUSA's National Leadership and Skills Conference. This year, the Charles Koch Foundation enhanced this scholarship program with a generous grant of $50,000, bringing the total scholarship value to $100,000 to support CTE students. While attending this year's NLSC, the Charles Koch Foundation put together this video featuring two of the scholarship recipients: Isabelle Linkous and Addison Nosal. #NLSC17

Congratulations, Isabelle!
Isabelle Linkous was the SkillsUSA State Winner in Sheet Metal.  She advances to Nationals in Louisville, Kentucky, June 19-23, 2017.

Competes at State Conference

Jalicia Norman placed 1st in Teach & Train STAR event and will advance to Nationals.  Oakley Carani and Alexis McCall placed 2nd in Chapter Service Project STAR event and will also advance to Nationals.  Bobby Moon, Prenonna Mickens, and Jakayla Mason placed 3rd in Chapter in Review Manual STAR event.  Chloe Pope placed 3rd in Toys that Teach State event.  The chapter also received the National Program for Career Connection.
