Lincoln County Schools will return to a normal operating schedule tomorrow, Tuesday, January 27, 2026.
All classes and bus routes will operate as regularly scheduled.

In coordination with local emergency management and in accordance with Governor Brian Kemp’s State of Emergency declaration, Lincoln County Schools will transition to a Learn From Home Day on Monday, January 26, 2026. The district will continue to monitor road conditions throughout the day Monday. A follow-up announcement regarding Tuesday’s schedule will be released by 4:00 PM on Monday via our primary notification channels.
In coordination with local emergency management and in accordance with Governor Brian Kemp’s State of Emergency declaration, Lincoln County Schools will transition to a Learn From Home Day on Monday, January 26, 2026.
This decision follows close consultation with public safety officials. Although the forecast predicts sunshine by Monday morning, extreme overnight lows in the teens and 20s present a significant risk of refreezing and "black ice." Our primary concern is the safe operation of our school bus fleet, as these high-profile vehicles face unique safety challenges on icy bridges and secondary roads.

Packet Distribution: Physical learning packets are being sent home with students today, Friday, January 23.
Absences: Students who are absent today may collect their materials from the front office once normal operations resume.
Grading: To alleviate stress on our families, these packets are for remediation and skills reinforcement only and will not be graded.

Lincoln County Schools is actively monitoring the weather forecast for the upcoming weekend. The safety of our students and staff remains our highest priority. We are working in close coordination with local emergency management officials to evaluate potential impacts. Should any adjustments to the school schedule be necessary for Monday, January 26, families will be notified promptly via our mass notification system (phone/text), social media, district websites, and local news outlets.
Due to the potential of inclement weather for Saturday, the basketball games against W-WCHS have been moved up...JV Boys will play at 12:00, Varsity Girls will play at 1:30 and Varsity Boys will play at 3:00. Please come out and support our teams!
Valentine Information - Valentine's Day is on Saturday, February 14th and Lincoln County Schools have an Early Release Day on Friday, February 13th.
Congratulations to Randson Thompson(Irby Band), Madelyn Harris(Irby Band), Catherine Seals(Farley Band), and Emma Baker(Fogg Band) for participating in the 76th Annual UGA Janfest Band Festival.
Recognition for our Football and Cheer teams will take place Thursday, January 22nd starting at 6 PM. Athletes eat free, all other attendees should have a $10 ticket to attend.
