Lincoln County LCHS Red Devils Varsity Nabs Win Over Jefferson County Despite Early 4-Run Inning

Lincoln County LCHS Red Devils Varsity weathered a scare by Jefferson County in the fourth inning where Lincoln County LCHS Red Devils Varsity coughed up four runs, but Lincoln County LCHS Red Devils Varsity still won 9-6 on Wednesday. K Newsome, A Bostic, L Barker, and C Brassell all moved runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning.

Both pitching staffs had their hands full, frequently dealing with runners on base. Lincoln County LCHS Red Devils Varsity collected ten hits and Jefferson County had seven.

Lincoln County LCHS Red Devils Varsity got on the board in the first inning when Jordyn Deason singled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run.

Lincoln County LCHS Red Devils Varsity put up three runs in the fourth inning. Lincoln County LCHS Red Devils Varsity's big bats in the inning were led by a triple by Destiny Barksdale, a single by C Connors, and a double by M Rowe.

Deason earned the victory in the pitcher's circle for Lincoln County LCHS Red Devils Varsity. She went six and two-thirds innings, allowing six runs on seven hits, striking out five and walking one.

Newsome was in the pitcher's circle for Jefferson County. She allowed ten hits and nine runs over seven innings, striking out seven.

Lincoln County LCHS Red Devils Varsity tallied ten hits. Rachel Jordan, Rowe, and Barksdaleall managed multiple hits for Lincoln County LCHS Red Devils Varsity. Barksdale, Rowe, and Jordan each collected two hits to lead Lincoln County LCHS Red Devils Varsity.

Paris Russell led Jefferson County with two hits in three at bats. Jamiah Holmes led Jefferson County with two stolen bases, as they ran wild on the base paths with eight stolen bases.
