Congratulations ~ Class of 2020

ap honor school

Congratulations on being named an AP Honor School for 2020!

Lincoln County High School has been recognized for their dedication of our school and district to ensure that students are prepared for college and career after graduation. It also highlights the hard work of your AP teachers and students as they challenge themselves with rigorous coursework, culminating with the AP Exam in May. To celebrate this accomplishment, attached to this email is an electronic award badge that can be placed on website pages or used on printed materials. We hope you find it useful!

Finally, the College Readiness and Talent Development team echoes Superintendent Wood’s sentiments in his press release: “I commend the students, teachers, and staff of these 255 schools,” Superintendent Woods said. “Behind this recognition is an enormous amount of hard work, and I congratulate all those who worked to expand access, improve performance, and build strong Advanced Placement programs in each school recognized today.” You can find the complete press release here: https://www.gadoe.org/External-Affairs-and-Policy/communications/Pages/PressReleaseDetails.aspx?PressView=default&pid=741

find your focus

The week of November 11-15 was School Psychology Awareness Week, in which the theme was "Find Your Focus." School counselors at each LC school were asked to select one student who consistently finds their focus to receive the "Find Your Focus" award and prize bag. A student who consistently finds their focus engages in behaviors such as paying attention, being persistent and determined in and out of the classroom, seeing ideas clearly, identifying areas of interest, and identifying and following action steps to achieve goals.

LCHS award winner was Shanna Kneece. Congratulations Shanna!

HOSA & mission dawgs

HOSA members spent part of their Sunday helping Mission Dawgs Augusta provide needed materials to the local homeless in the community.

"They did a great job with everything we asked them to do....I have always been proud to say I am a supporter of LCHS, but I was as proud today as I have ever been. "

Ethan Clegg

Congratulations to Ethan Clegg for being selected as a member of the State School Superintendent Richard Wood’s Student Advisory Council. Ethan was accepted out of more than 1000 applications statewide and will be representing the students of Lincoln County High School while discussing education decisions made at the state level.

The Student Advisory Council looks for a range of students with diverse perspectives. To be appointed, students have to complete an application that includes several extended response questions and then be selected by the State Superintendent's office. Once selected, students meet with State Superintendent Richard Woods four times during the 2019-2020 school year. As part of the program, students also participate in a joint community service project on behalf of Georgia's students.
